Surrounded by the powerful dark blue of the Atlantic, an island lays and surrenders to the ocean that raised and saw it grow.

Madeira, land of ingenuity and nature, of the ancient Discoveries route and commercial trade, above all seduces the senses.

Following “levadas” along mountains until resting with the sun diving in the sea, we hike through routes where the human imprint dissipates in the natural scenery, cross green forests of luxurious vegetation, drink clear water in the springs and admire the undulating colors of the landscape.

Program

Day1
- > CITY TOUR IN FUNCHAL >
- Reception at Funchal Airport and transfer to the hotel.
- It is time to feel connected with the special atmosphere of this dreamy island, therefore we head to Funchal city center, a true gem lost in the wide Atlantic Ocean.
- Join us in a City Tour and fall in love with the rich historical heritage of this unmistakable city, built from the trade of sugarcane and the well-known Madeira Wine. As we walk along hidden dwellings of the old town until an astonishing point of view, encounter churches and convents, manor houses and fortresses... And indulge yourself with all colors and aromas of Madeira in the famous Lavradores Market, vibrant palette of exotic colors, most certainly one of the most iconic "postcards" of Funchal.
- To top it all, you can expect one of the tastiest traditions of Madeira Island, cherished by the local population: Prego in Bolo do Caco, a delicious light meal and ex líbris of the island.

Day2
- > 1st HIKE ALONG THE LEVADAS (half-day) + VISIT TO TRADITIONAL ENGENHO (Sugarcane Producer) + TRADITIONAL PRODUCTS TASTING >
- After an excellent breakfast, with restored energies we set off to the starting point of our first trekking, a low intensity trail along a \"levada\" (typical irrigation canal) on the south coast. A path of discovers drawn in front of stunning cliffs and farming slopes - built and human ruralities lost in an idyllic scenario where a conforting eucalyptus and mountainous scent is king.
- Once our feet touch the ocean, we quietly relax and inhale the sea breeze until lunch is served on a restaurant where fresh fish and seafood are specialties.
- And because Madeira is more than luxurious landscape and sea, History also makes its way here through traditions and flavours: in the afternoon we make a visit to a local, ancient producer of sugarcane, honey and "aguardente" (spirit drink from sugarcane)... Let's have a toast to Madeira!
- As the sun sets and the evening comes, a regional dinner awaits you in a charming restaurant facing the blue ocean.

Day3
- > 2nd HIKE ALONG THE LEVADAS (full day) >
- The day starts with a great breakfast…and a smile, typical of who can guess what\\\'s next: a hike along one of the most magical trails of Madeira!
- We are guided by a "levada" starting deep inland, in a distinct setting due to dense and luxurious endemic vegetation. The different shades of green open themselves in the wide plateau where today's route begins; then, we are the ones who "enter" it, walkers in the heart of Laurissilva Forest, UNESCO Natural World Heritage.
- Step by step, we make way along sheepish water springs, powerful waterfalls and hidden lakes.
- And in this fairytale landscape we shall walk and stop at our own pace to restore energies and embrace the landscape.
- Dinner will be held in a traditional Quinta (a colonial, historical property) and will surely honour the great typical flavours in a romantic atmosphere.

Day4
- > 3rd HIKE ALONG THE LEVADAS (half-day) + FREE TIME + TRADITIONAL EVENING >
- Breakfast.
- We head East for our last trekking on this enchanted land.
- Here lies hidden a stunning path which opens itself to reveal the most perfect panorama on the Desertas islands. Between "mimosas" and centennial growing fields, we hike peacefully along the "levada", exploring the mountain along this wide view point.
- And it's in the most delightful cenario that we enjoy a traditional insular barbecue.
- Once this adventure comes to an end we return to the hotel.
- To make this farewell a memorable one, dinner will be paced by a traditional folklore show.

Day5
- > FREE TIME IN OPORTO before departure >
- Breakfast.
- Free time to say the last goodbye to Madeira island.
- Transfer to Funchal Airport at due schedule.
- End of our services.
