    • PORTO & ITS GLAMOUR
    • It is time to explore Porto, its glamour and flavours opting for one of these options that we offer for you, so let us know which one suits you best:
    • OPTION 1: During this out of the circuits experience you will learn and taste something that is deeply connected with Portugal’s history and legacy: The Sea! You will have the chance to interact with several stages of the fish production. The day will begin by visiting a nearby beach waiting for the traditional fishermen’s boats to arrive from the sea with the catch of the day. Already on shore the selling and bargaining between fishermen and local sellers begins, where everyone tries to get the best and earn their living. We will visit a very small fish market, while the fishermen arrive with the live fish and do the trade with the local fish sellers. After enjoying this emblematic moment, we will set to visit a top quality sardine canning factory, a typical Portuguese delicacy that is known all over the world. This unit is carefully selected by our team due to its near 100 years of history and the manual labor process that is a live legacy of tradition! At the end of the visit there will be a can fish tasting. This morning of culture and tradition will end at the market where you will have the chance to choose your fresh fish directly from a traditional fish seller, to then be prepared at a restaurant close to the market.
    • OPTION 2: We invite you to meet an ancient artisanal Portuguese goldsmithing technique passed down from generation to generation: the filigree, which consists in the art of creating very thin wires of gold or silver, twisted and flatten, applied through a gentle work of detail and patience. With the private pick-up at your stay, travel towards Gondomar to have the opportunity to learn and experience some ancestral techniques in a filigree workshop. The itinerary includes a visit to a traditional workshop where the author will explain the entire production process and you can buy directly at the best price true works of art. The visit will end in Casa Branca do Gramido (tourist office) where you can take a look at the exhibition “Alchemy of Filigree” and taste some of our local delicacies overlooking the Douro River.
    • OPTION 3: We dare you on this day to release your inner chef in our deliciously fun, technique based, hands-on cooking classe! Enjoy yourself in the kitchen with a professional Chef, teaching and working with you preparing a full meal! We can promise of course a lot of mess :), having some glasses of wine and enjoy the all process. It will be performed on a professional hotel school used to this kind of experiences.

  • My husband and I are thrilled that we used the travel company for our two-week trip to Portugal! Usually we plan our trips on our own but we are do glad that we decided to engage the local expertise of Nuno and his colleagues. Together with our input, they designed an itinerary that provided a complete mix of experiences and locations that were on and off the beaten path. Nuno made sure that we had local guides with deep knowledge in each place we visited. . By using a Portuguese agency who really knows how to experience the country, we were able to see so many cities and towns without feeling rushed (Porto, Braga, Obidos, Coimbra, Monsaraz, Evora, Douro Valley, Alentejo Region, Lisbon, Sintra). The travel company was also available by phone every day if we had any questions or concerns while we were in the country. If you are going to Portugal and you want a trip that is top-notch in every way, the travel company will exceed your expectations.

  • Thank you for helping us have a memorable family trip!! Our agent Nuno did a wonderful job planning my family vacation! We had 6 family members to transport around Lisbon, Lagos and Porto for various activities in each area. Our trip was well planned and so enjoyable! Every person we dealt with was punctual and pleasant. Our trip with our guide to the Douro Valley was especially memorable. He took great care of us and shared a lot of information about Portugal. Portugal was a wonderful place to visit. The Douro Valley was our most memorable part of the trip. That valley with all the vineyards is one of the most beautiful areas we’ve ever seen!

  • Our family of 10, ages between 20-80, spent a wonderful 12 days in Portugal After some correspondence, I chose Splendid Evasion, based in Porto, Portugal. At Splendid Evasion I worked with Nuno Silva, who planned a perfect trip for our family. We travelled from Porto to Lisbon to the Algarve with private drivers and transportation. The drivers and guides at each destination were excellent - knowledgeable and fun. Nuno was responsive to all our needs and requests and planned many special surprises for us along the way. I highly recommend Splendid Evasion and Nuno Silva for a special and splendid trip to Portugal.

  • 35 Day Luxury Tour, National Parks, Coast, Lisbon Cesar and his team provided us with a fantastic 35 day journey through Portugal. From the National park north of Porto down to Lisbon. We crossed over to the Eastern side of Portugal and to the coast as we made our way to Lisbon. The service and follow-up we received during our trip was incredible. We highly recommend the travel company.

  • Experience Portugal from North to South The trip was absolutely amazing. Splendid Evasion did an incredible job setting up hotels, guides, drivers and experiences to last a lifetime. It was so stress free- all we had to do was ENJOY Portugal. And we certainly did just that- the country is beautiful and the people so kind and humble and proud of their country. Also, I was celebrating a birthday during our travels, and Splendid Evasion made sure it was extra special and a beautiful memory. The planning process was easy and fun. They listened closely to everything I said we wanted or did not want. They had great ideas of things to do, that I would have never known about- if not for their travel expertise. The flexibility during the trip, when we stumbled onto a small village festival and wanted to enjoy some unplanned festivities - was great-Easy, No problem. I can’t say enough great things about the people we worked with to plan the trip and the people that took care of us during the trip.
